A powerful message on World Mental Health Day

To mark World Mental Health Day, the UK’s Norwich City FC partnered with the suicide prevention organization Samaritans to produce a gripping video that has received overwhelming praise online. (Please note that the video addresses themes that may be distressing.)

The theme of the campaign is “Check in on those around you” and it appears to be aimed at men, who often are reluctant to discuss issues related to mental health. Furthermore, as one commenter noted, football clubs play a singular role in UK communities, which possibly gives this message extra reach and added impact.

How do you feel about the video?  Do you think it will motivate the intended behavior?
