The King

Here is an article from the Wall Street Journal that discusses what some experts believe is a serious flaw in Burger King’s marketing strategy.

In summary, Burger King has targeted young men who eat lots of burgers.   But in the process it might have alienated a lot of other constituencies – specifically women and children, maybe even certain ethnic and religious segments.

The economic downturn seems to have hit young men particularly hard, and perhaps that is why BK’s sales are taking a big hit.

So are the experts right?  And, if so, how should Burger King respond?
